Job #140199 for
(Bob Watson)
2008 Toyota TACOMA
Invoice #25870
Technician:
None
Concern:
CUSTOMER STATES, THE VEHICLE IS BLOWING BLACK SMOKE. PLEASE CHECK AND ADVISE. TECHNICIAN NOTES, THERE WERE SEVERAL CODES STORED - P0031, P0037, P0051, P0057, AND P0102. DEALING WITH OXYGEN SENSOR AND MASS AIR FLOW SYSTEM. TECHNICIAN CHECKED AND FOUND THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR LOWER THAN IT SHOULD AND NOT CHANGING UNDER ACCELERATION. THE OXYGEN SENSORS WERE STAYING IN ONE PLACE AND NOT FLUCTUATING UNDER ACCELERATION. TECHNICIAN CHECKED VOLTAGE GOING TO THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR AND FOUND IT TO BE MISSING. WE TRACED IT BACK TO A BLOWN FUSE, AFTER REPLACING THE READINGS WENT BACK TO NORMAL AND THE FUSE HAS NOT BLOWN AGAIN, AT THIS TIME. TECHNICIAN RECOMMENDS PUTTING MILES ON THE VEHICLE TO VERIFY IT DOESN'T BLOW ANOTHER FUSE, AND RECHECKING THE SYSTEM IF IT DOES.
